Did anyone see the Oscar winning documentary about male penguins in the North Pole sitting on the eggs ....

... til they hatched while the women penguins traipsed for miles to catch fish and bring them home?

I think it's unnatural.

What kind of man would seriously consider himself masculine if he sat on an egg and waited for it to hatch whilst waiting for a woman to bring back some fish having weathered blizzards?

They ought to be ashamed.

Well, if you're a penguin then it is natural I suppose. Besides, the male penguins are weathering blizzards too while they sit on the eggs. Plus it must get really boring sitting there doing nothing, I mean they don't have any TV or computers or anything to keep them amused while they're sitting around there. Not to mention they must get really hungry. I don't suppose it's much fun.

EDIT: Well, I guess I know which one you are now, Priscilla. That didn't take long, lol.

Thanks for the email, btw :-) Sweet to be called names in a truly personal attack.

Oh ~ and 'documentary' usually suggests the subject is factual, not a Hollywood invention.

In the case of the penguins, while you may feel unnatural, they were just doing what comes naturally ~ for them! :-)

Ummm, you may not be aware that this was actually a documentary.

And somehow, I don't expect that the penguins care two 'hoots' for your disapproval of their lifestyles choices.

Cheers :-)

Those male penguins had to be tough to weather those conditions, the female had to eat first so it had enough energy to raise the pup (like all women should). The male seahorse on the other hand is an animal that deserves a punch!

First of all, it was the SOUTH pole....

and second...if it is so unnatural, how many hours of training do ya think it took to get those penguins to "act out" all the scenes in the movie???

Sorry, no penguins at the North pole. They're all busy at the South pole, South America or in zoos.
