spanking...i mean some people dont believe in it but there not to old for it.

she probably should have told them no earlier on but she doesnt have to take the crap that their giving her.

she needs to put her foot down and do something about it or just think what kind of teenagers they will be.

It may take a couple of tantrums for you to figure out how to handle them. If they happen often out in public, don?t worry what anyone else says. Just focus on your child and help calm them. You will get evil stares, opinions and suggestions, just let it all go. Realize this is a child who can?t control his feelings but the adults who are so opinionated can and choose not to. If your child is disrupting the environment in a restaurant or movie theatre, take him out of the area and work to calm him down somewhere private and quiet. Love and hugs are sometimes all a kid needs to calm down.



One of the best tactics is to remain absolutely calm and speak in a quiet voice. If you get upset or angry, the child will sense your frustration and it will only feed the tantrum. Talk to your child nearly at a whisper - often a child will stop screaming and crying so they can hear what you're saying.

The time to start not giving them whatever they want is NOW! Tantrams should be ignored completely or they should be given time outs to calm down. You can help your sister by being firm with the kids. When they scream, you tell them "I am not giving you ANYTHING until you stop screaming and ask/talk nicely" Give them examples of how to say "please/thank you"



In the morning, tell them the night before that they are not allowed to jump all over you and scream and cry in the morning. You tell them firmly that you will not allow them to do that or there will be consequences. When they are at the dinner table, they do not get out of their seat until they eat their meal. Whatever is left over they eat for lunch or dinner. Your sister can also warn the kids that if they don't eat what they have requested, they will eat nothing but what she makes for them from now on.



Sounds like they need attention as well. They need to be taught step by step how to be have and what is expected of them. They should NEVER get what they want when they scream, cry or throw tantrams EVER. If they ask nicely or show progress by accepting "no" as an answer, possitive feedback is very important.
