Can a minor get the pill in CA without parents knowing

*A quick note, I'm a guy, I'm trying to find out this info for my girlfriend who thinks she needs parental consent to get the pill*

So the question is pretty simple, my girlfriend is 14, im 16, we use condoms but would like to get the pill too because sometimes I don't have a condom and she can get a little too excited (had to resort to Plan B once), so it would be nice to have the extra protection just incase.

I'm pretty sure we could get them without anyone knowing at Planned Parenthood (a confirmation on this would be nice), but could she also get them by going to her doctor, saying she wants it to be kept confidential, and paying in cash then giving them her cellphone number for contact? Or would she need parental consent?

Put simply - Can we get The Pill in California without anyone knowing?

YES and please do.Just dont make your life complicated and go to planned parent hood it is confidential. Just call and make an appointment and then go get your birthcontroll. If you dont have a job it will be free and if you do then it will be a small fee.

she does not have to be 16.

here is alink:

If she is 16 or older then she can get the pill without her parents premission. Otherwise by law her parents have to consent

I don't know what Cali laws are, but I'd call your local Planned Parenthood, as they may be able to give it to her without a parent's consent. They'd be best to tell you.

I live in Missouri, and you can do it here, but they make you pay for an exam and urine pregnancy test as well.

I'm going to add that I think it's quite responsible that you and your girlfriend are trying to do the right thing by NOT getting pregnant. Good for you! That means you're talking about the repercussions of sex and you're both responsible enough to take that step.

Look big man, if we're all giving you unwanted comments and lectures, then don't ask at all. She's 14! If the pill doesn't work for any reason, she will end up pregnant. Now where will your A$$ be after she tells you, huh? Gone! You'll come on here and vent and say you're not ready to be a dad.

If she's under 16, she needs parental consent. Google PLANNED PARENTHOOD and look up the nearest clinic and ask them. They will know for sure.

In my opinion, she should tell her parents that she wants to get on the pill. There are many reasons why someone would start using the pill. But it will be much easier to obtain the BC. After all, if something happens and she gets pregnant, who are gonna be the 2 people who will support her....?

If she isn't old enough to talk to her parents, then she isn't old enough for birth control.

Realize that you can still get pregnant on the pill. Is she ready to tell her parents she is pregnant? Probably not if she can't talk about birth control. Are you ready to marry her? Never date another girl? Always have to be home after work? Give up going out with the guys looking at girls? Spend your money on diapers instead of the latest video game? Think about this before you decide that you want to have sex.
