I didn't know this, but IMO I don't like either one after the newborn stage... When it comes to comparing the 2, though, I think Luvs smell and work better. I think people only swear by Pampers because they are more expensive, therefore they think they are buying superior diapers. I personally think they suck. report abuse

I love Pampers, but I don't like Luvs at all. Pampers are alot softer, and the Luvs chafe my sons legs. The way the tabs are at the top is just not comfortable for them. I have bought them a few times when I had to and my sons (twins) would actually cry and pull at them. Another good brand that I just tried for the first time is Playskool. I didn't even know they made diapers until I saw them at Rite Aid. They're awesome and SUPER soft! Luvs are no different than buying the Walmart/store brand and the store brands are cheaper, but I'd definitely reccommend Playskool or Pampers. Good luck! report abuse

I used the Pampers Swaddlers for as long as my son would fit into them and then I switched to Luvs. I didn't use Luvs right off the bat because the size 1's don't have any elastic in the waistband. I found it hard to fit them snug enough to prevent leaks without them seeming too tight. I honestly think that both brands are pretty much the same except Luvs are cheaper (stating the obvious), thinner and smell nice. I live in Canada and if they sell Luvs here, I haven't been able to find them. Every time I go cross-border shopping, like yesterday, I stock up on them. report abuse

It depends on the shape of your baby to be honest. I found that Luvs were better for short, chubby babies, while they didn't work at all for tall skinny babies. They were always way to wide for my son and so short that he pooped right out the back of them. They also had no stretch when I used them, but apparently they've changed that. I personally love Pampers Swaddlers and wish they made them all the way up to size 4. (Pampers Cruisers just don't compare!) report abuse

You know, when you have your first child, you want the very best for them. After a while, you find out it's ok to get practical. Try buying a small package of Luvs. If it works for your baby, it works. Brands do not make you a better/worse parent. Babies R Us carries a brand of diapers that is also cost-effective and works very well. I just can't remember the name. They come in a yellow package... report abuse

i really like Luvs. My 9 month old daughter can't use cheap diapers so i get her Luvs because they are good quality but are cheaper in price. I also suggest getting a club membership to BJs or Samsclub places like that. I only buy diapers there, i get more for my money. Luvs at Bjs at size 3 are 202 for like 30 bucks. report abuse

If you haven't checked out cloth in a while, surf on over to www.diaperpin.com and prepare to be amazed. They've changed a lot since we wore them! report abuse

Pamper swaddlers did the best at preventing leaks during that explosive newborn stage. When she got older, I switched to Luvs. report abuse

I always preferred Luvs. They seemed to fit my children the best. There were a few times I'd use Pampers or Huggies, but Luvs was my standard brand. report abuse
