Her original name was actually Marsha Lynn (sp?) but she changed it when she came to Hollywood for a more exotic, "French-sounding" name. So in ths way it is a "made-up" name and holds no meaning. The closest possible meaning it might have is in its close relation to the name, Marcellin, which was a prosperous Roman family.
