OMG OMG I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!! I"M 12 AND I SEE NO DIFFERNCE AT ALL BETWEEN US AND 13YEAR OLDS! WE ARE JUST AS MATURE AND EDUCATED IN SEX AND STUFF!! UGHHHHH!!!! I AGREEE!!



People keep saying the mind is more mature and s h i t, but its only one f'n year! I am more mature than any 13 year old you will ever meet, if that makes some people mad thats too bad. I think its more than equal, most 12 year olds today are the same as 13 year olds... i know what you mean and i exactly agree.

I'm going to give an annoyingly considered answer, but I think it all depends on where you are with your development and the perceptions of those around you.



I remember that at that age (I am a long way from that now) there was a huge difference, largely because of changes in my body, which were very rapid, but also because I think my parents perceived me as a becoming a bit responsible. For example I got to fly alone to visit family thousands of miles away.

I'm not saying anything like that will happen to you at 12 or 13, but there will definitely be years which seem very different from the previous year.

that's really just like saying whats the difference between 20 and 21. well at 21 you are considered a REAL adult that can buy alcohol beverages.The difference is a year, and some preteens do a whole lot of growing up and are considered more mature and trust worthy, while on the other hand a 12 year old is really just starting or in the middle of puberty. (the average 13 year old is nearly at the end of puberty)

well at 12 and 13 it is kind of the same. It's just the life experiences that make you older. Someone who is 20 is not the same as someone who is 15, even though it's only 5 years because the 20 year old has gone through alot more life experiences and has made them more mature then the 15 year old. So if you went through something between the ages of 12 and 13 that causes you to be more mature or get more perspective on life then there is a difference. You'll understand more when your older.

12 and 13 are pretty much the same, still on the verge of teenager-dom, but not quite there yet. =) However, when you are in the adolescent years, you mature very rapidly, and even one year can be a drastic change in you maturity because of hormones.

actually 1 yr. is considered as a lot of difference, and depending on the person, one might already have matured more, or have better understanding of things etc. so yeh it just depends, I've met some 12 yrs. old who are more mature then 13 years old, even though 13 yrs. old are suppose to be older and understand things better.

lol I take it that you are 12 and can't do something because you are one year too young. I understand exactly what you mean, but there must be a cut off somewhere. . . if they let you by, then someone else that's 11 would be saying "well I'm only 1 year younger!!!" You see??



And yes, age is just a number. I never judge anyone by age, but by attitude. It makes all the difference.

12 = a kid & therefore off-limits



13 = immature, but if conditions are right, not such a big fuss will be made.



If this is a guy in your year @ school (12/13), he shouldn't care.

if he's older then he will probably stick to the above rules.

I agree, they are basically the same.

Only difference is that once is called a tween and the other a teen.

Also 13 year olds seem to feel that they are older and more mature, so they tend to be cockier.

Depends on the person. who the heck cares 12-13.

For me the only difference was at 13 i started my life 40+ year sentence to menstruate every 28 days or so.

It could be the difference between a Man and a Boy. Or a Woman and a Girl. So basically depending on the youths biological clock it could be the the turning point from Child to Adult.

Its actually not the same.THE older the mind gets the more mature it becomes. THerefore a 13 year old is more mature in the mind than a 12 year old.

I probably grew up ALOT when I was thirteen and I could handle anything life threw at me.



But twelve are thirteen aren't the same.

when you are 13 you are a teenager and i guess people just say your not a kid anymore wich allows you to do alot more stuff.



17 and 18.. when you turn 18. you are a legal adult.

12 is a pre-teen and 13 is finally an official teenager where you start becoming more of who will become. Rather than just another kid.
