Well actually there is no crisis. Inflation hits everything including gasoline. I remember a few years ago when cigarettes doubled in price due to a shady deal cut between government and the cigarette companies. To smokers it seemed like a crisis. But now everyone is used to paying double for a pack of smokes. Some people quit just like some people will cut down or stop driving. But the majority will just get used to it. Like we did during the Carter years when gas shot way up.
1964 pack of cigarettes = 25 cents
1964 gallon of gasoline = 25 cents
How are they doing today?
Shortages or rationing would be a crisis. This is not a crisis.

No, I don't happen to think that the price of gas will go down anytime soon, if ever again! Yes, some of the problems we are facing today will change into different problems tomorrow. The world is a problematic place, we will never have no problems at all. There have always been problems to solve & issues to address. Because we have always been a nation that welcomes a challenge, we will take care of today's crisis, & start on tomorrows, unbowed & unbroken! Gotta keep the faith!

Depends on what happens in the November election. McCain would continue the failed policies of the current administration along with a top economic advisor, Gramm, who believes the crises are all in our pretty, little heads. Big Oil would rake in more treasure while the prices at the pump will skyrocket due to more deregulation of speculators. With demand exceeding supply around the world, we must wean ourselves from our addiction. Unfortunately, we have been devastatingly behind the curve for the last 8 years.

I believe it is impossible. Unless we have find some way to stretch out the use of oil or to get cars to have better mileage, with the way things are going, there is no way to escape the prices. It's a valuable resource and it's running out. If freshwater was about to run out, don't you think bottled water prices would go through the roof?

There will be a turning point eventually. When gas is a secondary source of energy, but right now it's to main stream to go down any time soon. So, I think eventually yes.

no, the amount of gas we had 10 years ago and now are different. we're not gaining any gas we're just losing it. and the more we lose, the more valuable gas becomes and the more the prices will rise.

the price will get higher and higher. there isn't an unlimmited amount of gas in the world. the supplies will get lower and lower untill gas will be so expensive, no one will even want to buy it.

Unlike 10 years ago, there's really no fuel left in the world for us to use. Probably going to change from fossil fuels to something re-usable; like water or electricity.

I think that eventually prices may go down a bit, but they will probably never go all the way down

Once an alternative energy is discovered that can ubiquitously replace oil, then they will.
