What exactly does 'Mission Accomplished' mean

That major combat operations in Iraq have ended and the US and her allies have prevailed...Tell them what they've won Johnny.

The American public has won five more years of turmoil, death and debt in return for accomplishing the mission...and it ain't over yet.

if you were in the military you would know

then send you on a mission and when you finish it

you go back to the CO and say Mission Accomplished Sir

If you're referring to Bush on the ship with

that banner flying......it meant we got rid of

Saddam Hussein and his tyrannical leader-

ship of Iraq. Quite a feat to do that to a

leader of another country. (wish we could

do some more).

It means an open ended war that allows war profiteering for Blackwater Haliburton Titan etc, and riches for oil companies while creating more terrorists

It means that the USS Abraham Lincoln had accomplished it's mission in Iraq. That's probably where you saw the sign.
