aww no don't listen to everyone who says that if you don't know anything about them then don't get one, at the end of the day everyone has to learn and start somewhere, some people seem to forget that they had to start somewhere and they had no experience and gained experience by reading books on puppies and made mistakes and learned from them. So ignore it! report abuse

Not sure what you mean by wolf dog. If you mean a dog with wolf mixed in...no, I think that's a bad idea. If you are talking about the select breeds that tend to look a little similar to wolves, then I suggest you do a lot of research on the breed before deciding. report abuse

Wolf hybrids are very pretty to look at, but they are much more dog -or canine, technically- than you can handle. report abuse

Well, i could tell your still balancing school and stuff, and are you in college? If you are balancing a dog would be difficult, i had gotten a wolf dog when i was 17 and it was really hard to keep trackk of my homework 'n stuff. You need to be careful with your wolf dog, because it teared off my skin at some point. Wolf dogs, are part wolf, so i advise you read up on them. If you live in a dorm or apartment, i advise you get yourself a cockapoo, or a terrier. If you want to buy a small friendly dog for your first try, get either of those. Might i remind you, dogs are mostly mixed, and they cost alot of money. You need your dog to get spayed or neautered. and that costs alot, groming and bedding pet supplies is also alot, yearly checkup for heart diesease. All of this is really costly. So i i'm telling you to rethink this. a place to get your dog, would be North Shore Animal league. They have a variety of dogs. and Especially on fridays. and the weekends. They have a pet store nearby and also, they will spy your dog for you. Most puppies, may have already been spayed or neautered, so that saves you money. Reconsider and think everything up.. If you need help go to your local petsmart. Or animal shelter! Hope i helped. Bye report abuse

I am pleased that you are thinking of getting a dog, they are such good and faithful companions. However your choice of a wolf dog is questionable. They are quite a handful and their habits and traits are not really fully understood at this point. You do not say whether you live out in the country or in a town or city. If you live in a remote area I would say go ahead but it wouldn't be advisable to have one around people or small children. How about a Black Lab? Or a Golden Retriever ?Both have excellent dispositions and make very good house dogs. report abuse

If you dont know anything about dogs.. I DO NOT reccommend a wolf dog! These animals are NOT domesticated pets! In the wrong hands they can be dangerous to own.. definantly not something for an inexperienced person! report abuse

That'd be a very very very bad idea to have a wolfdog as your first pet if it is going to have much wolf in it especially. They can be hard to train, destructive, and are escape artists. They're also not legal as pets in some areas. I'd try getting a dog and learning about dog behavior and wolf behavior in great depth and talk to people who own them to see if this is something you're prepared and capable of dealing with in the future. report abuse

Problem is domestic dogs have inherited 10,000+ years of tolerance for the strangeness of humans. wolves didn't, so a wolf dog has a high chance of NOT being able to tolerate peoples not understanding that say making eye contact is a challenge to fight. Not a good first dog- major questions if its sutable for anyone..... report abuse

wolf dogs are extremely dangerous. wild wolves would never dare attack a human because they're hard-wired that way, but wolf dogs have the same natural aggresion as their wild wolf parent but without the inhibition because of their other domesticated dog parent. bad bad bad idea. report abuse

If you don't know anything about dogs, I don't think it's a good idea to get any kind of dog, let alone one that's part wild animal and possibly illegal where you live. report abuse
