Can I dye my dog

I got a really good looking dog in all but I think it would be so cool if I could dye him white. Here is a exact picture of what he looks like now http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...
I don't wanna hurt him because I fear that maybe the smell could be toxic to him? I hope someone can let me know if this is a good idea are not?

If I was wanting to do this, I would only let a groomer I trusted do it, but only then, I believe it is possible to put color on your dog. I don't think dogs can safely be lightened because that involves peroxide/bleach which would probably hurt their skin... not to mention dry it out and ruin their coat. I think your dog is beautiful already!

You can't dye things white, you have to lighten them and this is a harsh process. I dye my cat pink with vegetable based dye, Manic Panic. So your dog could have a blue or green tint if you did this.

You can use stuff like "Manic Panic" on them. It's completely non-toxic and is a deposit only color.

Other than something like that, no. The peroxide in the dye can harm their skin.

No, it is a very bad idea. A woman has already been tried, convicted and sentenced for dyeing her dog. It is considered animal abuse.

This is a bad idea. Why would you want to dye a perfectly beautiful dog?
