Well every time that he tries to take a snap out of you, say "NO" and blow in his face real quick and hard. Not likes its gonna hurt, its gonna annoy him. So every time he snaps at you hes gonna know your gonna annoy him ( blow in his face hard) so eventually he'll stop. Another thing to do if he actually gets a hold of you - just say if he bites your finger- push your finger into him... to let him know he cant hurt you and your not afraid. Eventually he'll get used to you and wont be afraid, thus not snapping.

Just make sure you have a good routine with him that involves you being around him alot and having your hands in his cage ( cleaning, petting, changing food dishes) and ease him into becoming your friend. He wont find that there's a threat with you after he realizes your only there to care for him.

Spend time with this bird making friends.

Talk to him alot and often. Move slowly towards his cage so he isn't threaten and stressed by you.

Sit beside the cage several times a day and look at him and talk.

You have to earn his trust. Once he doesn't react in fear of you, after a week or so, try to get him to take a bite of apple or pellet from you. Hold it between the cage bars. If he takes it tell him Good Boy for praise of this behavior, if he doesn't, walk away and try again later.

Hands can be threating to birds, show him you won't harm him. Sooner or later he will take the food. This is the first step in trust.

First of all Parakeet bites dont hurt that bad and maybe if you just leave the bird alone for a little while it will calm down and not snap at you. I have a parakeet too and that always works for me!!

HOPE I HELPED!!
