Well start by doing the usual stuff. Clean its cage once or twice a week. make sure it has lots of toys so it won't get bored when your gone. and talk smoothly to it. make sure you give them clean food and water every day. And also you have had it for only 2 weeks. Give it some time to a just. let it get use to the stuff that is around it. I hope this helps! report abuse

Some budgies don't like to be touched that much. My grandfather bred these birds and I've had 40+ year's experience with pet birds.Patting the head and neck is better than patting it on the back.You can have your bird sit on your finger and talk to it,but if it's letting you pat it on its head and neck,it trusts you.Just spend time with it,walk with it sitting on your finger in a room with a losed door and windows if its wings aren't clipped. If it is letting you scratch its neck, I would start trying to rub it;s beak. He may nip at first but over a few days he will get used to it. Also spend time several times a day working in his cage. So he gets used to you being around his cage and learns that you are not a threat. report abuse

Budgies are like that. they don't really like people to touch them. You can just scratch their heads which they love and you can try to hand feed them. report abuse

I did all the stuff that i just put on for your answer and they got use to me. and now i can get them to sit on my hand
