Does anyone know the story behind the singing of the black national anthem

I know the young woman was hired (as in she got paid) to sing the National Anthem and without telling anyone she sang the other song. She thought it was a pretty song. Frankly, in my opinion, she broke her contract and should not get paid. The people who hired her should have pulled her butt right off the stage.

Just think of the original lyrics to the song: "... land of the free..." - well, her ancestors weren't, and she, like all blacks, reap the effects of that and have it trickle down on them all their lives.
