Limited Company registered in residential address

Dear all,

I would like to know if there is a legal conflict to register a limited company in a residential address. At the moment, the company has a registered office in a virtual office at Soho Square, however the costs are quite high. Is it possible to transfer the registration address to my residential address? Should I have a written permission from my landlord? Should I have a small signage or even inform the local post office?

Thank you in advance.

My business in a limited company and is registered at my home address. All you have to do is inform the tax office of the change over. You will however have to have permission from your landlord and in some tenancy agreements you are not aloud to run businesses from home. You don't have to have signage or inform the post office.

Get in touch with your local tax office, they will be able to advise you.

No it's fine to register your Ltd company at your home address as long as you notify Companies House of the address change it makes no difference. You don't need to inform the post office or anyone else you don't want to. My home is my companies registered address and I know many people who work from home and use their home address. There is no requirement for a company to have a commercial registered address, although your landlord might have something to say if you started operating out of your address i.e. servicing cars or something!
