No, they aren't roaches. They are really slow, They look like those rolly-polly things except with kind of a pinkish section on the middle of their back. I live in Michigan, ten minutes from Lake Michigan to be exact. I found them in the weirdest spots. One seem to be soaking up moisture from the towel I step on when I get out of the shower. The other was lapping up what was left on top of a beer can in the kitchen. (alcoholic little bastards) *shrugs* I hope this helps.
