Relax. While the age for breast cancer onset is decreasing, I'd go on a limb and say 13 is too early, and a lump growing overnight is too fast. Chances are you're having a reaction to a bug bite.

'Lumps' from breast cancer are under the skin; you can feel the masses slide on one another. Also, bad cancers are hard, like bone; 'good' growths are rubber-y. They also say cancer doesn't hurt - but mine did. Pains and aches, or just 'tender' breasts are normal during fertile years, as the breast reacts to the hormone levels.

Learn from this scary experience - visit a website that teaches you how to perform self-exam:

By doing it early and often, you develop a sense of how your breast feels. This can help you spot any 'bad' lumps earlier - and 'earlier' is the key to less surgery and longer lifespan.

At 13 your chances of having breast cancer are almost zero. It's mainly a disease of ageing - 50% of those diagnosed are over 50, it's rare in women under 40 and almost unheard of in under 20s.

Most breast lumps, even in women over 50, are not cancerous. Breast lumps aren't like bug bites, they're within the breast. It'll probably be gone in a day or two.

It's perfectly normal to feel lumps & bumps in your breasts.. especially when you're still young & developing. Best thing to do is have it checked by a doctor & they can tell you if what you're feeling is normal.

It's not cancer.

Cancer lumps don't show up in a few hours.

You got bit by a bug, or are getting a pimple.

It could be a cyst. I hope you see a doctor real quick.

Is the lump sore to touch, does it move when you touch it. Are you on the pill. These are all question you gp will ask. It is going to be ok you just need to have it looked at straight away. You are right you are not too yopung but get it looked at
