Sims 2 help Its not working!

Okay, so a while ago I installed nightlife, but my custom content didn't work so i uninstalled it. Being an idiot, I didn't backup my files, and now my sims 2 isn't working. Whenever I start it up, when It gets to the last loading column, it comes up with 'this application has crashed, the application will now terminate'. Is my game completely messed up, or is there hope for it yet?

Help would be much appreciated.

Uninstall, delete all files, and reinstall. You may have an underlying problem -- an expansion pack shouldn't disable custom content. TS2 games are really finicky -- try reinstalling both games before adding your custom content. Good luck!
