I was waiting for the elevator when the department head walked up with his bicycle (he rides it to school everyday, but normally parks it outside). I asked him why he was bringing it upstairs, and he proceeds to tell me about someone stealing the expensive seat off of the bike. In my head I was wondering why he didn't just remove the seat to take it upstairs with him, but what came out of my mouth was, "well isn't the seat removable?"

"Why yes," he says. "That's how they were able to steal it."

I felt like such an idiot!
