I paid for an item on ebay, but did not receive anything and the seller has deleted their account....

What am I suppose to do?
I paid nearly £200 for the item! and this person has deleted their account and taken my money.

The same thing has happened to me - that 45 day limit is terrible!!!!

I bought tickets back in February to see Radiohead play in July (last week) and the buyer never sent them then disappeared. Ebay and Paypal are of no use whatsoever so I've printed off all the correspondence and his email, accounr details and reported it to the police.

Ebay and Paypal are terrible - they offer no protection at all. I complained to them about the 45 day limit and have said that if that is the case they should make it clear, which they don't, its' hidden somewhere in their Q&A section.

Get the police involved - its the only way to deal with it as Ebay won't.

Good luck!

ps if it was for the same Radiohead gig and we have the same seller, I've no problem with you emailing me privately to discuss as I think this person needs to be taught a lesson

There is a procedure for reporting this to e.bay - look for the complaints icon. It will be registered in your account who the person was and who the money was paid to via paypal.

Ebay will try and sort this for you.

It may be though that you have lost the money.

But go through the procedure and at least this person will get blacklisted and if youre lucky - you may get your money back.

You shouldn't trust anyone that won't give you your item as soon as possible.

Email eBay and see what they have to say about it, but I'm pretty sure that you're past the point where they can do anything about it. Also contact PayPal (if you used their services) and see if there's anything that they can do.

If not, and it's really a problem for you, then get the police involved.

Unfortunately, this happens to so many people and most of them never get their money back. You just have to be careful when using online auction websites.

As a rule, never spend more than you can afford to lose on eBay. There are scammers everywhere.

Sorry, but you're SOL. Why the feck did you leave it for 3 MONTHS?! I consider a fortnight too long. Under eBay's Buyer Protection Policy, you have SIXTY days to file a complaint.

As it was such a significant amount, why are you only starting to be concerned about it now?! £200 is a lot to me (I'm disabled and on disability benefits) and if I'd paid that for something, I'd be asking questions around 2 weeks!

If you were that bothered about it, you'd have started questioning its non-appearance *FAR* sooner!

A similar thing happened to me. I brought fake golf clubs sold as genuine. Ebay did not want to know, the seller de-registered, I did not pay through pay pal. Fortunately I found out his address through another ebayer who had also been cheated. Eventually I contacted this b-----d and threatened to pay him a visit unless I got a refund. He paid up.

Ebay were useless.

There's probably not alot you can do about it now. You can only file a paypal dispute up to 60 days. Maybe give ebay or paypal a call and try to get some information about the seller so you can report them to the police. Why on earth would you wait 90 days?!

The seller cannot delete their account until 180 days have past. Since it's only been 90 days, the seller's account is still active. But, since you waited so LONG!!! There is literally nothing you can do about it. Why in the world would you wait 90 days?

Oh no. I'm so sorry my friend. It looks like you've been scammed. You may want to contact eBay support (http://pages.ebay.com/help/newtoebay/abo... but there may not be much they can do.

Good luck!

I was going to say it would be alright if you paid with paypal..

but, even with paypal, 90 days is far too late to get your money back
