Why does the screen on my laptop flash black

I just bought a Toshiba A300 and its working fantastic. The only thing I am curious about is, sometimes, when I wake it up from sleeping, the screen will present my normal desktop and perhaps flash to a black screen once or twice for a fraction of a second and then return to normal. Is this something I should be worried about?

thats normal.. the system is "waking up".. get worried if after working, your laptop do it, that could be the video card with a problem.

Yeah, it's nothing to worry about. Your screen is just refreshing it's color and resolution settings as it warms back up.
