Why does my altenator fuse fuse blow everytime i put one in

I did a b16 swap into my 99 honda civic ex and the other day i lost my speedometer and now my battery dies..i realize that there is a fuse for both the altenator and speed sensor but everytime i put one in, it blows the fuse...what could be the problem?

it sounds like you have something overcharging the circuit.



remember that fueses are in place as a circuit protecters so if its blowing out, then you need to check wiring.



also dont try to put a higher rated fuse in, some people may advise you to do this but also remember that, the amperage you have in their was in there for a reason.



also if you arent careful, and take care of this soon it could lead to tons of electrical problems and cost you big time in the future.



1st step - check the wiring

2nd step - test alternator at an auto parts store

3rd step - if you havent solved the problem, talk to a mechanic that KNOWS electrical, or can get wiring diagrams.

Diodes inside the alternator are blown.
