How Much Should I Charge

I am 15 years old and I am starting a small company for around my neighborhhod to make custom scrap books. How much should i charge for a 12x12 20 page custom scrapbook? Fortunetly at my school they have a class that provides almost all the necessary supplies, except for the actual scrapbook. The customer only provides pictures. How much should i charge?

Most of the materials being free is not the point. If you just charge what it costs you at this reduced basis, you're ruining the market for yourself. Go to an office supply store or craft store and add up the cost of all the material for making one of these scrapbooks. Put in some cost for your labor and give yourself a profit. It doesn't have to be a lot but you should earn a profit. If you get some of the materials free, it's just a little more profit from those books. Buy you need a fair price if you want to doing this and want to make a profit when you do need to pay for everything. If you sell the first ones cheap because you get some of the materials free, you may find some people refusing to pay a higher pricer because their neighbor or friend or relative paid a much smaller price. This would cause problems for any company you wanted to start. I'm sure you see my point here. The bottom line is that any product is worth what the customer is willing to pay, not how much the materials cost.

I would say 5 dollars b/c it is small and maybe only small pictures can be stored in there due to the size...and the cost of good sold is basically cheap....I think five or 6 dollars would be good. If its a plain scrap book cover and regular...3 to 4 dollars. Good luck on your business and have fun.
