3 percent of 5000.00. That equals to 5000 X .03= $150.00



But I believe that inflation is topping 3% right now, so your 5150 in a year will actually have less buying power than your 5000 has right now. Kinda a crappy financial situation.



There are online only accounts and other things that can get you better returns so you will at least remain the same over time. Search around through them I know citibank online had one and so did bank of america. I would think at least 5% would be necessary the way things are going.
