its going to be my first time getting them done.I want to know the difference between acrylic and gel.I would also like to know the pros and cons as well as ur personal preference about them and why?
- Most are stronger but can break due to lack of flexibility
- Cost less than gels
- Requires filling every 2-3 weeks but that depends on how quickly your nails grow
Gel Nails
- Limited filling required, reducing the risk of burns & cuts
- Dry with a UV lamp
- Quicker to dry, but the whole thing to apply them takes longer
- Lifting can occur due to oily nails or humidity
- Cost is higher than acrylics
- Also require filling every 2-3 weeks
I personally prefer gel nails, they look much more natural than acrylic. But I've tried both & both are fine :-)

I would not get fake nails if I were you. They damage your real nails, and then you get caught in a cycle where you have to have artificial nails to cover the damage, and your real nails continue to deteriorate (they start to look dry and cracked, and fungal infections become more likely). If you just take care of your nails, fakes aren't necessary. Besides, fake nails aren't fooling anyone. They're like a bad toupee; anyone with eyes can tell they aren't you real nails. So, instead of the gross fakes, how about you schedule a manicure for yourself and learn how to take proper care of your nails?

I ALWAYS GET ACRYLIC..I DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE THERE BUT I ALWAYS GET THEM SHORT BECAUSE IT IS HARDER GETTING THEM LONG. SINCE YOU WOULD NOT BE USED TO IT AT FIRST. AND BEFORE YOU GO MAKE SURE YOU PUSH YOUR CUTICLES ALL THE WAY BACK OR THEY WILL START THE BACK OF THE FALSE NAIL IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR NAIL...(PERSONAL EXPERIENCE)! GOOD LUCK!
