Asian skin can be tricky. You want to stay away from pinkish shades and stick to a yellow base. Your best bet is to go to a large department store that stocks dozens of brands and shades (like Sephora) and test out different colors with the help of a salesperson. The trick to testing foundation is to stand near a window to view the shade in natural light. Otherwise, you might try custom blending. Several department stores offer this. The makeup artist will blend the perfect formula for you (keep in mind you may need a different shade for summer and one for winter).



Some great brands to try: Prescriptives makes 500 shades so chances are you'll find your perfect fit. Also Shu Uemura and Shisheido are two Asian-based companies that cater to Asian skin.

The Body Shop is really good as it has foundations in a variety of shades, including shades suitable for us asian gals... Dream Matte Mousse by Maybelline is also really good - and with that you can control how much you put on (whether you want just sheer coverage or not)...

well i work at the M.A.C counter and we deal with "yellow skin" (asian) faces all the time, i highly reccommend purchasing M.A.C studio tech foundation- it has pink tones so the pink will mellow out the yellow tones in your skin and make your skin look brighter and healthy- it also contains vitamins so its good for your skin and wont cause acne of grease!

I'm indian and I use Mac, they have a great range of shades for different tones skins, ask at a Mac counter and get the sales rep to advise you of your right shade thats what I did. :-)
