This kind of Q is asked often.

While seeming mundane, a good habit to get into is to outline a piece, usually with some beginning, middle, and end, in your notion of the subject, character development, evolution of the piece, and any resolutions you want to express. Obviously spontaneous interaction with your piece can and should happen, but without even a general plan, you could write epic volumes of rambling, going nowhere.

You must certainly be aware that a FILM for example, fits into a time frame. In that 130 minutes, your story, has to fit. I suspect editing, cutting, will happen, but the notion should be the same,,, 3 phases.

I've never experienced a block in my 64 years, but certainly my suggestion would be let it rest, and move to other distractions, at least for a time.

Hopefully you realize there is NO STORY that hasn't been told. What should evolve however, in your writing, is an original, different way to express ideas.
