What should I do to keep me motivated to keep doing my chores

I always say I'm gonna stay with it this time, I'm not gonna quit, etc., etc., but I always end up stopping after 2 days anyways! I need some help. Tell me what you think I should do to stay motivated.

I am exactly the same way! I start doing chores for about 2 days and then i stop! Well this is what you should do: You should listen to music while you work. Music always makes me happy while i am doing the chores. Also, think about all the things you could buy and what you are going to buy while you are doing the chores. Remember, no work, no pay, so you will only get paid if you do the chores. Thinking of that will get you motivated to keep doing the chores and not to stop. Also make time for a little break like a snack and some rest time so you can have more energy.

Hope that helps!

Remind yourself of how good it feels to finish your work on time and not have to think about it in the back of your mind.

Personally, I like to use timers, like I'll give myself 30 minutes to work on chores, then I get to take a 15 minute break or something (which I time as well), then I work for another 30 minutes (or whatever - I do shorter time lengths if I'm feeling extra unmotivated). It's amazing what you can get done in a really short amount of time if you're just focused on it and jsut do it.

Make a personal commitment to do it by rewarding yourself. Like if you finish all your chores for a week you can buy a cd, for a month you can buy a new outfit, for 2 months go to a theme park etc. Really you have to answer to yourself for it because if you don't do it...your letting down yourself.

1. list all the things that need doing.

2. do the very WORST and HARDEST thing first.

3. you'll be so relieved, your self esteem will zoom, and you'll be able to tackle the other jobs bit by bit.

Give yourself lots of praise. For every task completed, have some kind of treat. A glass of wine works for me, but there's always chocolate!

Listen to good motivated music while you do your chores. They type that you just want to get up and dance to. I have pets, kids, and a husband to pick up after so that's what helps me. Good luck!

set a goal to do your chores for two weeks straight so you get used to it and fall into a routine. and just tell yourself to do it. no excuses.
