YES you can make red ..... although, it won't be a true red maybe a little off but that depends what your gonna use it for (ex.icing for a cake) YELLOW and ORANGE make RED



And yes red is a primary color and is use to make other colors. People are use to seeing the color made with red dye#5 like the red for m&m's.



But you can make red... start off with yellow and mix in a dab of orange and alternate with yellow and orange until you make a redish color again it will resemble red but it will be alittle off .... When I made cake icing and made red this way I added a smear of blue just to give it depth

orange and yellow do NOT make red, they would make a lighter orange. red, blue, and yellow are primary colors, which cannot be mixed from other colors. secondary colors such as green, purple, and orange are made from primary colors.

it shows you what primary colors can be used to make secondary colors. for example, green is halfway between yellow and blue, so equal parts of yellow and blue should yield green. to get yellow-green, you would want more like 25% blue and 75% yellow.



but nothing can make the three primary colors. violet red combined with red orange would not give you red, because it would still be contaminated with the blue and yellow from the tertiary colors. red has to be pure.
