Drawing anime

sometimes i think some people can be jealous of my anime skills so they disapprove that my drawing is good.
there used to be a girl that i liked and everyone knows and i only like drawing anime girls so my friends made fun of me.
but then some kids i barely knew looked at my drawings and they really think it's good well that's like the first time some one actually gave my drawing a good compliment. but i need to get better. people says i have a bright future cause i'm smart and stuff but i want to draw but then it's my future and stuff whatever.
i watch a lot of anime like when ever i could

so my questions:

how can i learn to draw anime better with the internet?

my future?

name some anime you recommend

can anyone tell me where to find really good step by step anime drawing teaching skills?

do you like anime?

Honestly the best way to improve your anime drawing skills are by studying the fundamentals of traditional drawing. Life drawing, Anatomy, and Perspective. Drawing is a form of problem solving, in math you need to know your addition, subtraction etc... this is similar.

You need to get a sketchbook for life drawing, draw everything you can see, people in different positions, interacting with objects, in environments. Practice proportions, gesture, weight ,rhythm, balance.

You also need to study anatomy, learn the bones, draw them all from as many angles as you can. if your school has a skeleton, arrange a way where you can draw it as often as you can. Then learn all the muscles, where they attach and how they are shaped. how they change when the body is moving,

Perspective, 1,2 and 3 point perspective, curvilinear (or 4point) and atmospheric perspective.

Do Not expect complements from people, or look for outside sources of encouragement, you need to be self motivated or you will always be depressed.

Do Not only draw anime. You wont learn how to draw better if you always do the same thing,

Do NOT avoid things your bad at, If you can't draw hands don't hide them behind the character's back, draw 1000000 hands and you will be less bad at them or what ever you are working on.

Do Not expect to find any website or book that can teach you how to draw. Especially the step by step ones. Step by step books teach you how to draw one object in one position, you might as well save the time and buy a photocopier. Books certainly can serve as a help, but the best way to learn is by drawing from life.

Do try and get life drawing classes, they are amazing.

Do draw everyday from LIFE for no less then 20 minuets.

Do draw hands and feet every day

Do persue a career in art it's so much fun I love it

The best website is www.conceptart.org it's not a how to draw website, it's a forum where people discuss things they've learned, how they drew things, there's lots of awesome work on there, though not much anime.

I like anime for the stories, not really for the art. The background art is definitely better then other forms of animation and the character style is very appealing, but I could never get over how the cut corners on the animation. To many held cells with just a mouth moving, or a still of the character while a background zooms by. I really like some of the expressions though, they're so funny.

Avatar is currently my favorite show, it's kind like a hybrid between anime style and American animation, it's really beautifully done.

i agree with the 1st answer

i like to draw anime, especially girls but i have no problem with it. Just do what you feel more comfortable with, dont worry about what they say

and if u wanna draw anime incredibly good

the thing is to just practice, practice, practice, practice

i started off if em looking, "Americanish anime" now they look like complete anime, and i think u can do it too

Um well you can always try to emulate a particular style of anime, but it'll probably be second-rate. But then you can do tranquil916 style, and go for first-rate. : )

In most animes the characters are humans. So if you wanted to draw humans, I think you should first draw from life, as Rhubix says. Gain an understanding of proportions so if you wanted you can modify the human body in your drawing and it'd still look "right".

Just do like 10 second sketches of people as they walk around. Carry a sketchbook with you, go places...

On the internet you can get models of the human skeleton and other parts.

And you can go to others for critique of your drawings... like go to, as suggested, www.conceptart.org. Go to forums, etc.

You can ask around for other sites on which people can view and give constructive criticism to you.

I agree with Rhubix... don't seek out complements, find your self-motivation.

Art is highly subjective. you're going to find widely different opinions on your art-- getting one negative comment doesn't mean your art is inherently bad. It just means there are different views in the world.

I like certain animes.

I recommend Juuni Kokki (a.k.a Twelve Kingdoms).
