How Will I Make It Into A Art School Next Year For Theatre

The school is called Dreyfoos School of the Arts, and if I audition for next year, I will be in the 10th grade, I audition this year, but I didn't make it, and the school is great! People have gotten in to Julliard, because of Dreyfoos. Do you guys have any tips for me to have a better chance of getting in next year? Thanks!

I'm going to Dreyfoos next year for 9th grade for Communications. When auditioning for theater next year they want you to be articulate, confident, and "not-boring". They really want to see people who are out of the box and aren't afraid to show it. Try to demonstrate how much you want to go there and how much you've improved from the last time they've seen you without sounding desperate. When auditioning for sophmore year and up, you have to get an even higher score to get in. Out of 5 possible points, you have to get a 4.25 for sophmore year. For freshman year you only need a 4.00 (I got a 4.875). Just try to stand out an DO NOT get intimidated by the other people at the audition. I can't wait to go and seeing how much you want to, I hope you make it next year! Oh, and there are some groups on Facebook that talk about "You know you've been to Dreyfoos when.." and "You know you were a dance(theater, comm., band, etc.) major at Dreyfoos when..". If you could look at them, you could find out about what the students who majored in your field are like and you could try to be more like the kids who go there at your audition. Okay, my fingers are tired smilies/smiley.gif Good luck(again)!

Get into an acting class or hire a coach to work with you on an audition piece.
