Since the 1920s, psychiatrists starting with Alfred Adler have debated the effect of birth order on personality. Generally, most theorists believe that the oldest child is usually more conservative, ambitious, and responsible. Older children and children from smaller families also ordinarily score slightly better on intelligence tests than their younger brothers and sisters.
Younger brothers and sisters often rebel against the standards set by their older siblings. Of course, they are often just as likely to try to best them. Middle children are often ignored as parents concentrate on the baby in the family. Recent studies indicate that the younger brothers in a family with many sons have a greater tendency to become homosexuals.
Of course, for every study undertaken on birth order and personality, there is probably another study that disputes its findings. Children are also influenced by the stability or lack of stability of their parents' relationship, their economic status, and their religious upbringing (or lack thereof), their general health, and their education.
BTW, the obsessive-compulsive author of this post is a first-born child.

You are you as an individual. If you are asking if you are raised a bit different then the answer is yes you would be. Why? Because the first child is an experiment and you are trying to do your best. You learn from the first as with anything else. The children following..you try to learn from the first and might do things a little differently as far as rasing them goes

From my experience not really. For instance a lad I went to school with had 3 older brothers. My friend and the 2 oldest are the nicest guys you could meet. Literally do anything for anybody. The second youngest has dealt drugs and has served time for violent behaviour.
If he was the youngest it could be said he was spoilt or even brought up more strictly if he was the oldest. However his parents as far as I could see as an outsider treat them the same. I have seen similar in other families also.
