Acquiring Records

I am trying to acquire my Grandmother's Death Certificate, she recently died in December 2007. My Aunt has the originals but I am unable to recieve them from her (don't ask why). So is there a way for me to acquire these records, I have her social security number. This is for the United States, the state is in georgia. Also, is there a way for me to get a marriage certificate for my grandfather (her husband). I don't have his social.

Who can order the certs and what the cost is, is answered on this page.

Marriage records are on a county level.. you have to know the county. You do not need a ss# for a marriage record. SOME counties have historical marriage records online through their usgenweb page.

You can obtain your grandmother's death certificate, for a fee, which may have increased, since I ordered my grandparents marriage and death cetificates.

Go to georgia.gov

Scroll down to Family and Health.

In the drop down window, click on Vital Records.

Click on Marriage Certificates and/or Death Certificates and follow the instructions.
