I want to either START Ballet or gymnastics so i can develop flexibility. Which one should i do? I have no experience at all with either of them, and am not exactly that flexible >.> I also want to start Hip hop lessons... Will either gymnastics/ballet help me?
ballet is the core of almost every dance. you get flexibility, poise, endurance, and so much more. Most dancers have taken ballet as well as other dances because the structure and difficulty of it helps them better their other dance skills. but they will both definately help. i actually took gymnastics before ballet and then branched out so they are all helpful and closely connected

You need just as much flexibility for ballet as you need fro rhythmic gymnastics. I'm a ballerina and i started when i was 4. Ballet is a better choice because you develop more grace and posture. In gymnastics you become muscly and thats it.
hope i help. Do ballet!

Ballet. It teaches preciseness, grace, poise, endurance, strength, and a sheer ability to dance. You can come into it in a beginners class and I think you'll enjoy it. It's a commitment but a good one if that, stretching every day to one day become en pointe.

If you want to start hip hop then you should do ballet. ballet is the core of all dancing...so it will help your hip hop. Also you will develop flexability because flexability is an important part of ballet!! and ballet is alot of funn and its a great exercise!!

Well I do gymnastics and sometimes you don't have to be very flexible. Same with Ballet. They both take a lot of work. I guess its what you think would be more fun and exciting for you. I think that if your not having fun, you shouldn't be doing it.

As a beginner in Ballet you wouldn't be able to get much flexibility because your only doing the basics. I personally think you would be better off with Gym.
